[ I had Glen Stassen for an ethics class...& while he may be esteemed by the theology world,as a person, I didn't feel a lot of love from him. But maybe he just thinks of the classroom as a place to do his job,not be relational; or there may have been some dynamics about me as a person & what was communicated, rightly or wrongly, via the letter of reference grapevine & other communication between seminary colleagues. They really do SHAPE the future leaders & determine the students future by the way they treat us & by what they write in their letters or recommendation. They can help us or damn us. Anyways, thoughts&prayers for his family, friends & loved ones. ]
"...Glen Harold Stassen, a respected Christian
ethicist and director of Fuller Seminary's
Just Peacemaking Initiative, died today after
battling cancer. He was 78.
"I am sad to report that Glen died
peacefully at home in Pasadena this
morning, surrounded by family," wrote
David Gushee, director of Mercer
University's Center for Theology and Public
Life, breaking the news on Facebook of his
mentor's death. "Glen goes to be with
Jesus, whom he so loved and followed."

SAVING SOUL, NOT JUST SAVING SOULS, IN CHRISTIAN MINISTRY & FULLER SEMINARY NEWS: this BEGAN as a defense of SOUL blog, and it STILL is, but I am also adding FULLER SEMINARY NEWS to this blog...albeit remember that some of the soul unbelievers are teaching at fuller seminary (ie nancey murphy et al). This blog is not necessarily a defense of Fuller Seminary...just commentary on what is happening. Not everybody is a soul unbeliever at Fuller Seminary.
